THE AIM

Future Forward is registered as a Section 2 company, not for gain. Its aim is to find sponsors to assist organizations wanting to help children who are compelled to leave a children’s home when they come of age or when they have matriculated. These children often end up on the streets, with no one to assist them to find employment or a place to stay, or to further their studies.

Each year we as cyclists undertake an ultra tour so as to raise money in the form of sponsorships or donations for these children. We have undertaken 6 tours since 2002, and in 2008 we will do our seventh.

In 2002 we cycled from Randburg to Cape Town (1400 km) and collected more than R400 000 for this worthy cause
In 2003 we cycled from Randburg to Richards Bay and back (1609 km)
In 2004 the group left by bus from Randburg to Alexander Bay, and cycled back to Randburg (1387 km)
In 2005 we cycled from Randburg to George (1582 km)
In 2006 we cycled from Randburg to Capetown (1500km)
In 2007 we undertook an “international” tour when we cycled from Randburg to Maputo in Mozambique (1400km)
This year, 2008, we will cycle from Randburg to East London (1400km)
In 2009 we are planning a return to Capetown because it remains a favorite destination amongst cyclists.

Future Forward is as ‘n Artikel 21-maatskappy sonder winsoogmerk geregistreer. Ons bewyer onsself hoofsaaklik om geld in te samel vir organisasies wat omsien na kinderhuiskinders wat verplig word om die kinderhuis te verlaat nadat hulle matriek geskryf het of ‘n bepaalde ouderdom bereik het. Baie van hierdie kinders beland op straat sonder ‘n heenkome – met niemand wat hulle help om ‘n blyplek en werk te kry of om verder te studeer nie.

Ons as fietsryers onderneem jaarliks ‘n fietsry ultratoer om borge vir hierdie doel te werf.

In 2002 het ons vanaf Randburg na Kaapstad gery (1400 km) en sodoende meer as R400,000 ingesamel
In 2003 het ons ‘n sirkel roete van Randburg na Richardsbaai en terug gedoen(1609 km)
In 2004 het ons per bus na Alexanderbaai op die weskus gery, en toe van daar af teruggery na Randburg (1387 km)
In 2005 het ons van Randburg af gery na George (1582 km)
In 2006 het ons weer Kaapstad toe gery (1500km)
In 2007 het ons ons eerste “internasionale” toer gedoen, toe ons na Maputo in Mosambiek gery het
Hierdie jaar, 2008, gaan ons van Randburg af ry na Oos Londen.
Ons beplan om in 2009 weer terug te keer na die Kaap, dit bly maar ons gunsteling bestemming!
